Instructions for changing the username and password on a USB modem such as a Thomson SpeedTouch or Sagem F@st 800 using Windows Vista

1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

Note: If you use the Windows Classic Menu you may need to click Start, select Settings and then Control Panel.

2. Click Classic View on the left-hand side.

3. Double-click Network and Sharing Centre.

4. Select Manage Network Connections.

5. Right-click the TalkTalk Broadband icon and select Disconnect.

6. Right-click the TalkTalk Broadband icon and select Properties.

7. Select the Options tab and tick the box labelled Prompt for name and password, certificate, etc.

8. Click OK.

9. Double-click the TalkTalk Broadband icon.

10. Enter your TalkTalk username into the User name box and enter your password into the Password box. Type 0,38 in the Dial box. Tick the box labelled Save this username and password for the following users. There is no need to change anything else.

Note: You can find your username and password details in your welcome letter. Alternatively, you can call our free, automated service at anytime of the day or night on 0870 0875 562. This automated service will give you your details so please have a pen and paper to hand. You must call from your TalkTalk landline.

11. Click Dial.

12. You should now be connected. Open your web browser, for example Internet Explorer or Firefox, and in the address bar, type www.talktalk.co.uk and press Enter on your keyboard.

You're done! Now that your username and password have been changed you should be able to browse and enjoy TalkTalk Broadband. When you want to connect to the internet in future, double-click the TalkTalk Broadband icon on your desktop.
